Best way to add amp to your factory sound system
By kontai69
I wanted to add an amp to the stock headunit of my 2011 Honda CR-V which doesn't have line-level (RCA) outputs. In my online research, I found out that passive (non-powered) line out converters (LOC) actually roll off the bass. Ironically, passive LOC's are commonly used to get signal when adding amps to factory systems with no line level outputs. Therefore, I decided to get this Audiocontrol LC2i, an active (powered) 2-channel LOC which is supposed to have much better bass output than passive LOC's. It also is a "line driver" that sends a high voltage (up to 9.5V) preamp signal up to my JL Audio 4-channel amp which powers a pair of Polk 6.5" components and a 8" JL Audio sub.
The unit is quite heavy for it's size and appears very well made (made in US). It outputs a very clean signal to the amp. It also outputs a "remote" signal to switch on the amp. The AccuBass feature really boosts the bass. When set too high, the bass can be overpowering. The unit appears to output a very clean signal since I don't hear any noise or distortion. Since the output is strong, I can set the gain on the amp all the way down, which reduces noise.
A couple complaints...the first unit I received was missing the two wire terminal blocks on the left side. It most likely came like this from the factory since the clear blister packaging was still sealed. Nonetheless, I got a quick replacemnet from the seller (not Wooferetc but another store). Secondly, the "great turn on" mechanism doesn't work in my system. The LC2i powers up even when the stereo is off. Not much of a problem, since it still turns off when I switch off the ignition.
Nonetheless, I recommend this product.

Awesome Product
By Mike Ramirez
I wanted that extra ump in my sound system without having to upgrade everything stereo wise. Using my factory premium system and adding the LC2i did the trick. This little guy allowed me to add a amplifier and woofers to the factory system. Now I have my factory look, but with that booming sound that's just as clear sounding as any of those high dollar systems. Save yourself the BIG bucks, get this guy and rock your neighbors. You will be amazed with the sound and clarity. This little guy helps boost your sound without sacrificing $$$. Don't beleive me try it yourself. If you have any electronic installation experience, you can have this down in a couple of hours. Highly recommend as an alternative to switching out your sound system.

Awesome!

Previously I had owned a cheaper line output converter, Wal-Mart brand, and it wasn't quite cutting it.

After a quick and easy install of the LC2i I noticed a huge difference, not only in quality of sound, but in overall performance with my system. It increased the power of the system by at least double, maybe because of the higher quality input or magic? Either way it is excellent, and the ability to control the factory bass cut out is quite nice as well.

The construction and quality of the unit itself is very sound. You even receive a small pamphlet from the manufacturer about the hand made in America quality of the device, complete with signatures from the people who made and quality checked it.

Overall I would recommend this to anyone who has a stock system looking to add some thump. It may be pricey compared to a cheaper solution, such as the Wal-Mart brand converter, but I would say it is worth the extra bit of money! 5/5

Patuoxun Sun Shade for 7" GPS
By Ken
Fast shipping!!! Overall this accessory is excellent, however, on the front, the two arms have rough castings and you should file them smooth otherwise you will get some fine scratches on your screen. I added felt strips and trimed them so they aren't visible. Also, I filled the small cavities in the arms with RTV/Silicone.

I use mine on the Magellan 1700 and therefore had to alter the left clip to make the power switch easier to get to. Again, this accessory has proven to be a necessity. I haven't found Patuoxun Sun Shades for the other sizes, are they available?

Works fine.

It blocks the sun but also blocks some view. My wife as the passenger also wants to be able to see it, but if I have 100% view she can only have about 70% view of the screen.

Excellent Product

I have been looking for a glare shield for GPS units for quite some time, and finally came across this one. This product works great, looks good and does exactly what I need it to do. Because the GPS companies do not offer this type of product, I beleive you could greatly increase your business by promoting it more.
